Philip

Hey everybody, here’s a short description of me 😉

Hello world, I’m…

Philip Strothmann, born on the 4.9.1984 in Münster. I’ve spent the first 20 years of my ife in Hasbergen, a little village close to Osnabrück in North Germany. I finished school in 2004 and worked afterwards for the city of Osnabrück in the environmental department during my civilian service. After this very interesting experience I started my studies in political science in 2005 at the University of Bremen. After 2 really great years in Bremen I moved over to Paris in 2007 and enjoyed one fantastic year in the french capital. Due to a long strike at the University, I did not really had lots of class but enjoyed the many demonstrations on street 😉 From February 2008 until the end of June I worked for the United Nations Environmental Programme in its Division of Technology, Industry and Economics (UNEP-DTIE). Since October 2008 I’m studying a Master in Public and Private Environmental Management at the Free University in Berlin. Right now I’m in New Delhi and will conduct a project on e-waste until the 16th of December 2009.

Even if I don’t study…

I still like to discuss all day long 😉 Be it politics, environmental issues or non-sense! Moreover I like sports very much but had to stop with it for quite some time now due to the rupture of my cruciate ligament which got fixed last year but still hampers me a little when it comes to sports. Other than that I love table tennis, squash, badminton and soccer 🙂 I love to ride my bike and enjoy being outside. I’ve a good reputation as being a „computer expert“ and my Macbook Pro accompanies me as well as my iPhone nearly all day long 🙂 Living without Internet would be quite a stress-test for me, as I work and live in it 😉

In case I grow up somehow…

I DON’T want to become a politician (even though everybody thinks I will) but rather want to work for a NGO or an International Organization such as the EU or the UN. Preferably my job should have to do something with project management in the field of environmental issues.

If you wanna see me happy…

be happy as well! Nothing is as good as two people being happy together 😉 I’m nearly always in a good mood and if somebody like to do weird things like jumping around or singing, it’s likely that I might join.. 😉 If you don’t want to be that crazy, chocolate will do the trick as well 🙂

Very important to me is…

reliability! To this end I don’t mean the german punctuality as I tend to come a little late as well 😉 Rather more I really need to know, that if somebody tells me that he’s doing something, it’s actually about to be done!

I am…

quite self-confident, flexible, spontaneous, helpful, extroverted and creative 🙂

I talk…

way too much, way too willingly and way too long and that’s why this gotta be it for now! 😉
